The Seven Classics Silogs: 1. Silog = sinangag at itlog 2. Tapsilog = tapa 3. Tocsilog = tocino 4. Lonsilog = longanisa 5. Bbqsilog = barbeque 6. Tuysilog = tuyo 7. Tikalog = tinapay, kape, at itlog The original naming of our Silogs began with the first three letters of any add-on followed by the base word Silog. Thus, the tocino, sinangag, at itlog combination becomes Tocsilog, instead of tosilog, which is widely being used nowadays. Tuysilog is tuyo, sinangag, at itlog and not Tusilog, which sounds as Tosilog. Tikalog, on the other hand, did not follow the naming rules because the sound of the word was not pleasing to the ears.
